Yes I know its been forever since I last posted but I am so glad I have this blog and hopefully this will get me started again to share our families experiences. I am attending Pathway through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am currently enrolled in Math and a Religion class. This semester in Religion we are taking Christ Like Attributes and applying what we read the the Scriptures and using a lot of prayer to become disciples of Christ. This time around I wanted to focus on Service and being Selfless. This has been so good for me and I have had some sweet experiences.
The Savior Jesus Christ is the best of example of loving and serving others. He walked this earth doing this and never turned anyone away. He truly loves everyone. As I studied about him in the scriptures we were assigned to read I knew this attribute would help me to be more like him and serve with all of my heart. We read one of my favorite accounts of the Savior Jesus Christ visiting the Americas. I felt so much love for him and that he loved the people so much he came to be with them for some time teaching them about the Gospel and Heavenly Father's plan.
Reading this account in 3 Nephi I truly knew I could do better to love everyone and especially start by serving my family with more love and to help others around me. I had at times complained out loud to have to make dinner or start the laundry and did things with a sad heart. So this is why I started working on being better at serving others. I knew at the end of this journey I wanted to help my sweet family and teach my boys that service is so important. Over the last couple of weeks I am happy to report that I have seen my 11 yr old son help people around us even if he didn't know who they are. This touched my heart so much. I could see the light of Christ in him and knew if I could do the same I would feel better about doing the little things for people.
I have truly listend after I have prayed to know what I should do for my friends and family to help them. Prayer is key in helping us to help others. I have a pretty big calling in my ward and I have been better at suggesting ways we can help the youth in their lives just because I have prayed to know what to do for them. I would have never known what to suggest unless I used prayer to guide me. I have not complained about things as much but to show my kids that they are important to me and I would do any thing for them. When I see a stranger I have not felt quick to judge but to realize they are just as important to our Heavenly Father as I am.
This last week I have been on the receiving end of service. How what a wonderful sight to see. I have been going through some tough news since this last Monday. I can see how others have the light of Christ to help me and my family. What a sweet blessing they have been to me. We talked about angels and I know I have earthly angels and heavenly angels watching out for me. I truly know this attribute was for me to come to understand who I am and what I need to do while on this earth. I will look to serve those around me more and to listened to that still small voice to help guide me. The church is so true.

At the Scera Shell waiting for the play to start! |
Um we are not sure we like any of the pictures we are in but this will have to do. We took the boys to see the Fiddler on the Roof at the Shell. |
Wow Summer came and went! Like I have said in other posts we moved in December to Orem. I love it here in Orem. It has changed my life in so many ways I am just loving it. We had so much fun this summer. We did go to Snowbird on a little staycation but that will be another post. We were pretty much set for the summer. We had a pass of all passes which we used to go to the Seven Peaks and also to the Scera Shell to see some good plays. We also had a punch pass to go swimming at the Scera Pool. Of course I am not good at taking pictures at the swimming pool but we sure made use of those passes. I feel blessed to live down the street from the Scera Park. I was so excited to have Tre and my other kids to go to the same elementary as me. Well enough talk lets see some pictures!
We loved the fiddler on the roof play. It was awesome because a family in our ward was in it. Yep, the whole family. The Wawro Family did a fabulous job. Oh and my old High School Teacher was the main part. It was fun to see everyone use their talents!
We went to the riverwoods splash pad one day. It was fun we ended up going with our friends the Larsens and the Larsen family invited some other family members. It was fun and I think everyone had a good time.
Tre showing off his muscles or hulking out! |
Landon loving the water. |
Skyler wasn't sure about the splash pad but he looks happy here. |
Landon started to wear sunglasses when he saw the track and field runners wearing their shades during the Olympics. He loves those shades! |
We did have a fun summer and I just love being with my boys. There are times I think oh I don't want to go do that since I am the one who has to get everyone ready and out the door but I have to say I am so glad when I do go do things with my kids. They are so fun to be with and I love to see them happy!
Hey Batter Batter Swing!
Baseball Season was new for us. The last time Tre played on a team was when he was playing T-Ball. So it seemed like forever since we got the tee bat, ball and glove out. Tre at first was a little hesitant but then he started improving on skill drills and I think was enjoying it. I never know with Tre what he is thinking but I liked that he could practice with Travis and myself and we all had fun.
Tre's Team was super cute and fun to see improve. I liked his coaches and thought they really did a great job with everyone. The last practice the coach brought a big bucket of water balloons and had the kids take a swing at the balloons while they did batting practice. The coaches also had each of us parents pitch in and got them a trophy and had a water slide party after the last game. I was sad to see it come to an end. Just as the kids start to get better the season is over. Oh well hopefully I can get Tre to give it another year to see if he wants to play baseball.
Tre up to bat. |

Out with Old...In with the New
The good old Orem High School
I know this will seem like a random post but as of right now I can only access these pictures to blog about. I wanted to update the blog while I am burning CD's for my sister in law for girls camp this next week so I came across these and thought why not!! So bare with me while we go down memory lane...
It is super different to drive past Orem High and not see the old school I will be honest when I heard they were tearing it down I was sad. Change is never easy for me but I have had so many memories at the "old" Orem High that I just didn't want to let go of the school I went to. I know sounds cheesy but I spent so many hours at that school it was like a second home to me!
Okay I also don't want to seem like I am bragging but I really did spend so many hours at Orem High like many students who get involved and are devoted to their groups. Being involved in High School was the best thing I did in those years. I always was sad when people would say I just want to get out of here and I would think just get involved in some way and you will enjoy it so much more. In those years I was on the Basketball team(soph. year) which I never thought I would make the team but just went to tryouts to have fun. I was a sophomore Cheerleader then in my Junior year I was a Varsity Cheerleader and the Junior Class Secretary and my Senior Year I was on the Varsity Cheer team again and the Senior Class Historian. I had so much fun serving on council and I was able to get to know so many people. As you can see I was involved but it was worth every minute of it. I am not even sure how I played basketball and cheered my sophomore year but some how it worked out. I do remember putting on my basketball uniform and going to my game then going home and changing into my cheer uniform and going back to cheer at the girls varsity basketball game. It was the same for practices it was a lot but I did it and that year my grades were the best! So yes I am glad I could pull it off! I have to say I had amazing parents and family to support me and also friends and teachers and also church leaders who I felt cheered me on all through out my High School Days. I will never forget those who were a great support to me!
The Old Lounge |
The Old Lounge as it became my Junior Year since they were in the process of building the new lounge so yes this was the "old lounge" to me. I would only sit in this lounge if I new someone that was sitting in there or if it wasn't lunch like during a class that we could leave for a minute. It wasn't my hang out place but a fun place to be sometimes.
The book store | I never really spent much time in there only to buy spirit gear if I needed something. |
This is where my locker was for 3 yrs |
This is where I was told I made the sophomore basketball team. Yes I won't forget that day. I thought it was a dream! |
c gym this is where we had basketball practice and sometimes cheer practice |
going into cross hall! |
The New Lounge my Junior Year! This is where I would eat lunch and we had some fun dances in there. We also had our 10 yr. reunion there. |
The Auditorium. I spent time here getting ready for assemblies and being in assemblies. So fun! |
Skyler trying out the stage! He was so little when we went to the open house!
This is the room I spent with some fun people on Senior Class. Lots of planning went on in there. |
Our theme was found by me! Okay I can't take all the credit. Travis helped me and I brought it to the others and they liked it! |
Senior Class of 1999! What a cool year to graduate in! |
Okay the words to the fight song are behind us. I sang that song so much so of course we had to get a picture of it. |
I saw my brother and my sister in law at the open house. Both of them went to Orem High. |
I met Travis at Orem High so I won't forget those times we had in High School. This is the end of the grand tour of the "Old Orem High" It has been fun to go into the "new" school but it won't ever be the same to me. I think one day my boys will be going to Orem High so it will be fun to sit back and watch them create memories. Roar for Orem High!
